A nice product from Microsoft. Its a new way of sharing photos or videos. Live labs (Microsoft on line R&D) has released this product in competition with Google's on line services.

Synths constitute an entirely new visual medium. Photosynth analyzes each photo for similarities to the others, and uses that data to build a model of where the photos were taken. It then re-creates the environment and uses that as a canvas on which to display the photos.

A collective post about web browsers.

Internet is huge collection of data and it is very important which tools you use to extract that information. Web browser is the most important because it is the entry point. If you use it effectively, it will definitely improve your internet experience.

My personal experience, I started internet browsing from 1999 with dial-up connection. Within few days I dropped Internet Explorer and switched to Opera. I never liked Netscape somehow. Opera is a great browser, its most important feature is tabbed browsing and speed. It also beats other common browsers in terms of resource consumption. But unfortunately, it gives problem with some websites e.g. new yahoo mail interface etc. Hence few months back, I switched to firefox 3. Firefox is a great browser, little heavy and slow compared to opera but very much better, secure, faster than IE. In the mean time, Microsoft introduced several versions of Internet explorer, but they never impressed me that much.
Apart from these, I also tried Safari and few other browsers, but none of them impressed me. Linux also has lot many browser options, but they are all okay okay type.

So, at the end, in my view - firefox ROCKS !!! but Opera is also worth considering.

Sharing some of the web browser sites:

Mozilla Firefox
Opera
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Apple - Safari Web Browser
Flock - Browser for the community
Konqueror -(Linux only)

You are welcome to add more.

Another search engine that allows you to search in Wikipedia. Its just indexes Wikipedia and not full web. But it provides ability to enter his query in natural language format instead of just words. e.g. you can search something like 'weapons used in world war 2 ?' and it returns good results from Wikipedia.

It has been taken over by Microsoft last month to complete with Google without Yahoo!. Hope it's independence and beauty remains as it is.

If you want to type in your regional languages, try Quillpad

There are lots of available language options like hindi, marathi, bangla, nepali and some south indian languages. The typing is easy because one needs to type in phonetic style. While typing it suggests alternatives which can be selected. Worth trying once ... hope you like it.

Beijing welcomed the world to the Games of the 29th Olympiad on August 8 with an Opening Ceremony that began at 8:00 p.m. (1200GMT). After a torch relay that brought the Olympic flame to five continents, the final torchbearer lit the Cauldron at the National Stadium to signal the start of the Games.

China again stunned the world. The official website of Beijing 2008 Olympic is http://en.beijing2008.cn/. Keep checking for news, results, photos and lots of other stuff.

Cuil (http://www.cuil.com) - pronounced as "cool", according to its creators. Its a search engine developed by Ex-google employees. Some say its going to be the google killer. The site itself claims it indexes 3 times more pages than google and 10 times more pages than microsoft. I think its just a baby and on should not compare it with goliaths like google at this stage.

The site has very unique style of displaying results, categories and related groups. Some one has tried something other than google. Nice job !!! Although it does not return good results for personalities, names etc. On very first day, it crashed due to overwhelming response from users. But it will definitely improve. Lets see how it gets developed and survives against existing search giants and finally wall street gurus.

I am really inspired by it and hence starting my blog venture with this site. Also used the name 'cuil' in my blog. its really cuil :)
